Motion Graphic Artist Job
We’re looking to bolster our pool of freelance Motion Graphic Artists for project work. We are looking for people that can work either on-site in our Manhattan offices or remotely. The artists we are looking for would be working on the packages ranging from simpler/2D projects to more complex/3D projects, so you must be versatile. Assignments will include work on the following: • Animation and Insert Packages for the Knicks, Rangers, Islanders, Devils, Sabres and Red Bulls • On-air promotion spots • Social media graphics • Original show packages (including logo design) • Print/digital marketing campaigns • VR and Mixed Reality Set Design Responsibilities include developing original concepts and executing designs based on established style guides/principles.
What will you do?
- Work with the internal creative team to establish a unified brand understanding and voice for the company
- Design projects from scratch and expand upon existing packages
- Adhere to current processes and workflows, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and proposing and creating processes and tools to support design operations
- Remain up to date on design and industry trends, and evolve with best practices, relaying information to the creative team
What do you need to succeed?
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Maxon Cinema4D & Redshift
- Knowledge of Unreal Engine workflows is preferred.
- 3+ years as a professional graphic designer (Experience with a network or agency is preferred)
- Online portfolio with a heavy emphasis on broadcast and sports work
- Exceptional capability with logo design, typography and layout
- Extraordinary organizational skills
- Fluent in current trends in design and animation
- Able to work flexible hours if needed
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
- Must be able to multitask, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines

Graphic Designer (Part Time)
In this role, you will work on a marketing team designing for both electronic and print media. Your primarily responsibilities will be to design, develop and produce creative deliverables for use in corporate collateral, presentations, social media and other print and digital media assets. Must have a solid understanding of graphic design, typography, presentation graphics, web and social graphics, preferably with motion graphics experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for projects from concept through implementation including graphic design for collateral, presentations, and digital channels – from datasheets, to banners, to social media
- Provide quick, tactical layout support for templated materials
- Find on-brand imagery and/or customize images with photo manipulation and retouching
- Ensure visual consistency across deliverables with a meticulous compliance of the brand guidelines
- Comfortable in supporting web graphics within a CMS platform
- Ability to work on multiple projects and be able to thrive in fast-paced and agile culture with rapid iterations and shifting priorities
- Being able to work both collaboratively and independently — while proactively staying on schedule, following processes using project management tools
- Engage in a culture of continuous improvement through brainstorming, problem solving, feedback and best practices

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Advertising/Graphic Design or equivalent training
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a corporate or ad agency environment ideally with some B2B work
- Thorough understanding of the creative/marketing processes
- Expert proficiency with design applications including Adobe Creative Suite and MS PowerPoint
- Motion graphics experience preferred
- Well-organized with a strong attention to detail (typography, grids, style sheets, etc.)
- Customer focused with the ability to communicate
- Knowledge of DAM system a plus
- Video editing experience a super plus
- Ideally looking for candidate/s in MA for hybrid work, but would consider near other Mercury locations or possibly 100% remote

WHAT YOU’ll DO
Our Product Team is proud of where we’ve been, but more interested in where we’re going. This team drives creativity, growing our portfolio of products.
You’ll craft packaging that balances art and typography in collaboration with our internal & executive team. It’s the opportunity to see your hard work and designs on shelves across the globe.
Location: Must be local to the Seattle market and available to come onsite to HQ in Preston, WA for occasional meetings (Only local candidates will be considered)
Reports to: Creative Director, Packaging
Base Salary: Up to $50/hr. (depending on experience)
**Must be open to working and responding to owners on the weekend**
- Leverage project brief and brand guidelines to develop concept packaging and component artwork with a thorough and critical eye, with guidance from team members.
- Ability to be flexible within a fast-paced and agile work environment
- Create product prototypes leveraging specifications for pre-press and production for our Executive Team as well as client evaluations and approvals.
- Partner with external clients and internal cross-functionals to understand project requirements and client objectives.
- Stay informed and ahead of packaging design trends, consumer purchase desire, and competitive product landscape.
- Develop strong collaborative partnerships with other Packaging Production designers while understanding vendor capabilities to inform creative explorations.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field preferred; Associate Degree accepted.
- Minimum of three (3) years of packaging design experience, ideally in consumer packaged goods (CPG).
- Ability to work on weekends & flexible work hours during the week
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, etc.). 3D rendering skills are a plus.
- Expertise preparing digital files for various types of production printing (lithography, flexography and digital printing).
- Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule, with the ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
